I owe about $17,000 which isn't a lot compared to some of my peers, but I have considered changing my identity and moving to another country to avoid paying it.

Perhaps, a graduating student agrees to work for the government in exchange of having her debt erased and realizes that she's working for a shady outfit or something.

Or one Ferris Bueller type woman tries to unite the students of America to refuse to pay loans until they are given jobs in their fields.

The US president is a self-made man, very right wing, who never went to college and still thinks all students are hippies. He nationalizes their debt and sets out to squeeze half a trillion dollars out of them to help pay off the US national debt, and it's Kent State all over again -- students vs National Guard.

How about several a student who decides to steal the money? He has to break into a bank to get access to the computers so he can then hack them. He steals just the odd cents on deposits thinking it will result in just enough to pay his loans. When he realizes it's way more than he planned he tries to put it back.

Scott,

In playing with this concept gotta go with a newly graduated political science hottie, who gets her Master's Degree only to find-out after she graduates that she can't find a job because she's not connected. Then ends up in the Arab Emmerates working for an employer she didn't know much about. THEN later finds out they have terrorist ties, and want to use her access to the U.S. for a terrorist group that they are affiliated with.

Start out with a high. The hottie gives a commencement speech at her Ivy League College.

Then show her mounting pressure as the jobs DON'T come through -- thouth her male peers do find lucractive jobs. And not coming from money and going to an Ivy League school this girl owes a lot of money.

BUT an chance e-mail, offers big relief. In exchange for a one year commitment to an Arab buisness man operating in Dubai, he agrees to play her a hiring bonus which will cover her debt. So long as it's not sexual, the girl concents, then man agrees; she goes to Dubai.

Over the first few months in Dubai, the girl gets to use many of the skills her Ivy League education provided. She helps resolve worker disputes on oil rigs, and helps young women in the Muslim culture accept their place in Dubai and Moslim society.

This girl rises to near cult level hights, but then the rules of her employment change. Her employer wants to use her position to help smuggle in a couple nucklear devices, and now she finds out that her employer is league with a radical Muslim faction. Further complicating maters is her position deals with commerce trade, NY to Dubai, during which time she works with guys she went to college with.

What do you think?

Haha sounds like my biopic. Seven years for a bachelor's accumulates a lot of debt. What screw ball schemes will he come up with? And what kind of stories will he write to get noticed in hollywood on any level.

I would SO watch a movie about a nerdy academic type who resorts to identity theft in order to pay off his/her student loan debt.

story of my life.

maybe in a few years i'll work up the sense of humor/objectivity to write it. right now i'm too busy pretending my loans don't exist.
