How about one is a former master thief just released from prison, trying to live legal while the other has just started stealing stuff, finds out he's good at it and wants his new found bro to join him on a big caper.

The brothers could be complete opposites in every way. Opposite sides of the street. One yard American Beauty-Caroline-tidy, the other Vegas Vacation-Cousin Eddie-junked. One outgoing and gregarious, the other solitary and private. When they discover their relationship, it's The Odd Couple meets the Neighbors.

This is a DECICIOUS concept to play with.

E.C.'s NEW twist on this story idea.

Two brothers get seprated at a young age via divorse. In the settlement each parent gets custody of 1 child.
The father takes one child secretly off to France. There this brother grows up in the lap of luxury; meets heads of states, and gets VERY WELL connected.
Meanwhile, the other brother goes with his mother, and gets raised it back-woods Kentucky. We're talkin' kids running arround with no shoes. Varrious momma spittin' tobacoo off a front porch into a spitoon, cradlin' a shotgun in their arms. The whole steotypical nine yards...

Fastforward into the brothers' late 30s/early 40s. Both brothers now well established into their livilyhoods. The country brother is a bona fide coon hunter: he runs his own pest removal business specializin in 'coon removal. (Banner on the side of white van has a circle crosshaied target superimossed of a worried racoon's face)

The older brother looks like an important head of state as he hobnobs with important buisness type at champagne events. But when pick up his story, it's very James Bond in a New York social club: hot girl, guns -- and two mysterious thugs trying to take him out with guns.

The back-woods brother is going about his business when his long lost brother shows up out of the blue -- and suddenly starts showing interest in him!

But after the initial zeal of reconsiliation wears off the country brother becomes more and more skeptical of his brother's motivations.
And the two guys AND the slick girl are in process of tracking down the aristocratic brother, as he's a marked man -- marked for death!

Meanwhile in Kentucky the aristocratic brother upsets his country bumkin brother's life, as he becomes an object of desire for many of the local women, perks the interests of all in the town, and starts show up in featured articles in the the local newspaper. The aristocratic brother even finds a love interest of his own, after nearly stealling the heart of his brother's girl...

Slowly the world of the aristocratic brother starts to unravel. The slick girl arrives to verify the aristocratic brother's true identity. Then the two assasins make their presence known in an attempt on the aristocratic brother's life.

The country bumpin brother is then forced to make a key descion: help his brother out of this pickle -- or follow the letter of the law and turn this case over to the cops.

Like it? Came up with this idea on the fly. It's "Step Brothers" meets "What Abot the Morgans?" in the world of "The Beverly Hillbillies."

okay i'll jump in.

We start off kind of sappy. We have 2 kids, Michael is 10, David is 3. Dad left them ages again and Mom is sick in the hospital. The boys are sent to foster care, separate homes. Break out the tissues folks, it's a gusher. (we'll find out later that Mom died and they were each adopted and moved away)

flashforward. Michael is now 39 on the verge of 40 (and a possible mid life crisis), He's married to his college sweetheart with 3 kids. Michael Jr (16), Katie (14) and 'surprise baby' Adam (3). He's well respected, nice house, police detective type.

David is 32 and a walking train wreak. total punk, tats everywhere, smokes, drinks, can't keep a job, kind of plays with a band (he's actually a good musician but he keeps pissing folks off and getting kicked out).

they met when Michael arrests David on some petty something or another. Bar brawl type thing. somehow they put it together who they are. David is thrilled, Michael disappointed (David has a bit of a rap sheet including signs of some juvie stuff).

then something happens that forces Michael into needing a babysitter for a couple of days and David ends up the only choice. yeah, Uncle Buck time. hijinks ensue.

of course in the end Michael will see the good side in his brother despite a number of riotous F-up moments and we'll end with them all happy together, blah blah

When a new neighbor, a handsome man in his 30's, moves into a predominantly gay apartment complex the other men take notice. He strikes up a relationship with a neighbor he meets during a pot-luck singles dinner. A jealous ex-lover becomes obsessed with ruining the new relationship and running the new guy out of town.
All it takes is a little DNA sample from the stranger who claims to have been adopted as an infant and we'll learn his true identity.

The results are shocking.

you could also have a lost brother & sister who learn their past after learning she is pregnant.
