Thanks, Scott! You also addressed something I forgot to ask about: the nature of mockumentaries as more performance-based than script-based, so thank you for that. To my embarrassment, Real Life is the only Albert Brooks movie I've never seen - I need to rectify that immediately.

It seems like there are quite a few really low budget independent "mockumentaries," which makes sense since they're easy to shoot because you usually don't have to worry about production value.

I saw a good one a few weeks ago which is available on Netflix in demand called Never Been Thawed by the writers of Sex Drive, She's Out of My League, and Hot Tub Time Machine.

I think this is where mockumentaries can really work, as a low budget independent film that showcases your humor.

With that said, over the years I've seen some really terrible ones, too, so listen to Scott when he says it must be funny and have a great concept behind it.
