Last year, I sent my independent script to a very well-known indie producer. His reader wouldn't even read it. I then sent it to a script consultant - I truly don't remember which one - and, along with some very helpful notes, got some nice praise. I rewrote a little from the notes, then quoted the praise in the cover letter and sent it back to the producer. The consultant's comments were enough to make the reader read it, she loved it, and gave it to the producer. He got other producers on board and is now executive producer - filming is scheduled for early 2011.
