You brought it in the right time.

Gran Torino was one of the best movies I've seen in many years. My wife, who didn't even want to see it, loved it because of the ending, too.

Just goes to show what a great script can do.

And my hats off to Mr. Eastwood who had the balls to keep the script as is. He’s got a good eye.

Always nice to see someone from the heartland strike it big in, as W.P. Mayhew said, "the Great Salt Lick."

Certainly reinvigorates this Dairyland scribe!

Last year I did a shoot up in Minneapolis and I stopped by Grumpy's bar to celebrate Nick's success by having a PBR. I have a photo of the bar on my blog (http://wp.me/paP6U-1ny)—and just so you know, it's not to be confused with Grumpy's in downtown Minneapolis.

I've joked on Triggerstreet that there's something special in the water over in Minnesota with Diablo, Nick & the Coen brothers. I was talking to someone about the downright disdain from some "writers" when Diablo Cody won an Oscar. Frankly, I think she can fart more talent than what I've seen from some trust fund baby types with MFA's.

One of the things that I'm learning is that many people absolutely cannot recognize a screenplay of surpassing quality. But then again, I watched The Maltese Falcon last night on TCM and didn't get it at all.
