Thanks for the detailed response, Scott, and for grafting some of your own personal experience in there too. I just printed this post out. Should help. Thanks.

Very glad you chimed in because I wasn't sure on a one-sheet if I needed to include the Act I and II breakpoints.
I was at a pitch once where I was asked what my Act I and II breakpoints were. Based on your response, you leave that off the one-sheet.

"Mein Parter mit der kalten Schnauze" is CLASSIC. Makes me smile just thinking about it. I can see why you kept it.

I'm jealous you met and worked with Jeff Boam.

Such an underrated screenwriter imo.

@James: I met him right when Innerspace and The Lost Boys were coming out. That was 1987, my first year in the business. Ironically Siegel & Myers were hired to write the sequel to The Lost Boys as Jeff had moved off to bigger projects.

Tragically Jeff died in 2000, much too young (54), from heart failure. Here's a quote from him I found on IMDB.com:

"I get the thing in my head and see it from start to finish. Then I sit down and start writing it. I don't have any kind of routine, where I do notes or outlines or character sketches. I just try and live with it in my head until it's ready to be spat out."
