No way could such a stupid pitch sell for six figures. I just refuse to believe it. The phrase "they are about to repopulate in a major way" suggests that this is some big event that's just around the corner. But populations grow over periods of many years. What's the tagline going to be: "Unless our hero does something, the population of witches and warlocks will double in 50 years." I can understand if we were dealing with an insectoid monster, with millions of babies about to hatch, all of them ready to kill, but transferring this kind of situation to humans is dumb beyond belief.
Also, doesn't anyone think this pitch is quite ethically horrific? We're talking about a population of people here, and the hero keeps this population of people in check. That brings to mind some monstrous situations: the Pharaoh of Egypt throwing newborn baby boys into the river because the Israelites had grown too numerous, witch-hunting in the Middle Ages, and any number of pogroms, massacres and ethnic cleansings up to the present day. How the hell am I supposed to sympathize with this protagonist?
