Hey Scott, many thanks! As you point out, the classification seems a bit arbitrary--but if we place SF into Action and Thriller, and Romantic Comedy into Comedy, that tallies up to 56 (82%) for the top 3 genres alone: Comedy, Action, and Thriller. Add Drama and we get 63 sales (93%) in the top 4 genres. (More if we move "Conviction" and "Jitters" into Thriller and Action.)

I love johnaugust.com and i'm constantly looking for an interesting blog on the money side of things. This is kind of weak, no figures, no insight into the writers. I guess my question is why bother?

@Javier: Actually knowing which spec scripts are selling in which genres is a good way to keep tabs of where Hollywood studios are spending their acquisition and development dollars. If you want figures, go check out my 2008 stats here.
