I'll take bets right now.

The ledge jumping scene from Lethal Weapon will be much more entertaining, emotionally gratifying, and best of all much, much shorter than this movie.

Compare this to Buried, which was also pretty thin. But at least you had a guy in a box, who was going to die if he couldn't get out. Both the script and film milked it for all it was worth and made a good film out of it.

I don't see the stakes at all, with some whiny dude bitching about his life.

It's Phone Booth. On a high rise building. And at least phone booth wasn't a scene we have seen a gazillion times before.

I might even lower my odds. I might even wager YES MAN's "jumper" scene is going to be better.

So my bet is really one word. Contrivance.

Dammit. I've had a concept similar to this for about a year or two now. Took place entirely on a ledge and everything. Oh well... It was something I probably wasn't going to write to begin with. It's still annoying when someone beats you to it.

Am I the only one who's seen FOURTEEN HOURS...?

Coincidentally, the paranormal mystery thriller I'm working on also starts off on a ledge with a threatening murder-suicide. But it's only the one (extended) scene.
