Barton Fink is one of those films that means a lot to me personally. Just a perfect representation of where I was in my life in the early 90's... just starting out writing movies, unsure what to do next, uncomfortable, skittish... go to Hollywood, stay at home, accept a broadcasting position that I knew I'd hate, get out of a rotten relationship or not... it was that beautiful dissatisfaction of an "angry 20 year old."

If you'd asked me then, I would have told you I was totally miserable at the time. Barton Fink seemed to echo my misery perfectly.

Little did I know I was having the time of my life!
