There used to be Big Boy restaurants sprinkled throughout Wisconsin but all have closed. God I miss that place... their burgers were a religious experience.

Two things, re: Lynch.

1. At his website, he gives the weather report from his desk in L.A. about every three days or so. For some reason, I never miss it.

2. Try his signature blend coffee if you have some spare change laying around. My wife bought it for me, knowing of my affinity for the man, and figured I'd keep it as a collectors item... however, I got desperate when I ran out of grounds in the house one week and busted it open and drank it down. Quite a great blend... strong as hell (as you'd expect.)

Oh yeah, and, if you are lingering around David's site, do yourself a favor and ingest his INTERVIEW PROJECT videos. A mix of touching and creepy. (again, as you'd expect)

That explains a lot.

Milk shakes are always better from those stainless steel cups. My interpretation of high concept has been something that can be scribbled on a dirty Denny's napkin and still have instant appeal. Big Boy sounds a bit tastier.

He talks about Bob's Big Boy and the stainless steel cups on one of his question and answer segments on his website. He went at two thirty because then they would have to make them fresh and the goblets would frost up--this made him quite happy.

Apparently the reason why he wouldn’t visit IMMEDIATELY after the lunch-rush, but would instead wait half an hour or so, is that he discovered that it took a certain amount of time for [whatever coagulative agent they use for these things] to react properly with the other ingredients in a fresh batch, before it hit its ‘sweet-spot’ in terms of thickness.

I’ve been meaning to order some of that coffee for ages, if only for the reusable tin -- It DOES come with such a tin, doesn’t it? (I’m in the UK, and a bit of a coffee-snob, so the idea of receiving a load of beans that would have been roasted AT LEAST a couple of weeks earlier isn’t too appealing!)

I do wish that the DL.com store would start making/selling ‘Winky’s’ coffee mugs, however; I would order half a dozen of those in an instant!
