This book has been one of the few books on writing to actually help me, inspire me to write. Most of the time writing books irritate me and their advice works against my flow, but Bird by Bird is funny, inspiring and genuinely helpful. It's full of good advice, and most importantly, it reminds me that writing is fun, even in its worst moments- which is why I started writing in the first place.
