really good movie and script. i liked that summer's position on a long-term relationship never wavered and how tom thought he could beat her into submission. the ending was a little too pat but for the most part, it was the first romantic comedy i've enjoyed in years.

Been meaning to see this movie, Scott.

LOVE getting a little of the author's background perspective too.

Will try the script link later tonight, crack open a Miller Genuine Draft and read it.

I haven't seen the film yet (will have it on my DVD rental queue), but really liked the script. Not only is the beginning of the script a great way to start, I think the last line was the funniest.

What I learned from reading this script was to set the tone early. A writer can do this in just a few lines. Amazing actually.

I am a little disappointed in this video clip because the script was MUCH better. lol

@blueblind who said, "What I learned from reading this script was to set the tone early. A writer can do this in just a few lines."

That is such a spot-on observation. You need to hit the reader with your story's tone, your narrative voice, grab their interest, all of that straightaway.

Could you send me the PDF of the 500 Days of Summer screenplay? I've looked all over for it and it hasn't been available via my usual sources.

@Alex: Go here.

Just read that script yesterday and it was really different and entertaining. Too bad that link for the video is blocked now, something about copyrights. Can you reload it, maybe?
