I would have to very much disagree with McKee's idea of video games not being rich and subjective. The fact that they are interactive makes the story all the more richer. Games still follow a story/plot line, but depending on the player plenty of games let you explore your own adventures.. whether it's to quickly beat the game, or to get fully immersed into everything the game has to offer. That sounds like a bit of subjectivity to me.
I'm an avid gamer wanting to one day write/create video games... And like you said Scott, "a large part of that comes from writing."
