Kevin Smith is talking about great ideas? The man who rose to fame for a movie where it's basically a few guys standing around and talking (Clerks). He should be promoting "execution" not "ideas." But hey, great quote (just a bad source).

Frankie, for someone trying to figure out a way to make a movie for next to nothing, Smith came up with a GREAT IDEA in Clerks: Single location, minimal actors, and rely on what is one of his primary strengths: Dialogue which I'm sure at the time much of which derived from actual conversations he'd had with friends. As his career evolved, there are several of his movies which are high concepts including Mallrats and Zack and Miri Make a Porno.
