SCENE #12 INT. HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM - DAY The usual symphony of sullen sounds found in a hospital. An expert in ignoring the calamity, the RECEPTIONIST looks up from her fashion magazine to find LARRY, a large man-shaped lizard shyly waiting for her attention. In fact, the receptionist is a large slug, her stalk eyes narrowing at this new nuisance before directing him to the waiting area with a slime coated member. Larry stumbles across the room. Missing a tail, he struggled to remain balanced as he passes other oddities waiting for service: a man with a shrunken head, two zombies holding what looks like the others limb, a pulsating blob of flesh. Larry finds an empty chair and plops down with a sigh. This garners the attention of the man next to him, crisp in an all black suit, severely sunburnt skin, two small horns protruding from his forehead. HORNED MAN Don't those grow back? LARRY (without turning) Geckos. HORNED MAN Excuse me? Larry looks at the man with weary eyes. Doesn't respond. The horned man smiles. HORNED MAN What's your number? LARRY Number? The horned man points at a neon sign above the receptionist. A large glowing "6". LARRY She didn't give me one. HORNED MAN Limbs that grow back aren't top priority, I guess. LARRY Geckos limbs grow back. HORNED MAN You're a gecko? Larry feels a presence next to him. Turns to see a floating ski mask. The horned man leans forward to take a look. HORNED MAN What's your number? The ski mask turns. A slip floats before then with the number "408". HORNED MAN Tsk tsk. Unlucky. (back to Larry) You wanna buy mine? SKI MASK Don't those grow back? HORNED MAN He's a gecko. SKI MASK (confused) Oh. (off Larry's look) Hopefully this'll wear off too. HORNED MAN Invisibility? The slip gestures at the ski mask. SKI MASK Good thing I had this lying around. HORNED MAN See that here a lot. SKI MASK How many time you been here? The horned man leans across Larry to hand the invisible man a card. All black, embossed. HORNED MAN I'm in insurance. The large "6" blinks and becomes a "7". The man with the shrunken head passes by them. Larry looks at the horned man. LARRY What cost? For your number? The horned man beams. HORNED MAN Nothing you can't live without. SKI MASK As long as it grows back.
