For me it's a toss-up between Hey Jude and A Day in the Life.

I love the stripped-down "I Am the Walrus" from the Anthology CD. Basically just a guitar, drums and Lennon's voice. Powerful.

It's all good but You've Got
To Hide Your Love Away has always struck a chord with me.

I have no idea why.

I've always been biased towards McCartney (the ultimate melodic craftsman), but if I had to name my favorite Beatles song, I'd go with A Day in the Life. And then Fixing a Hole, Blackbird, If I Fell, Mother Nature's Son, Tomorrow Never Knows, Dear Prudence, For No One, Norweigian Wood, Penny Lane, I've Just Seen a Face and so on...

I'm currently reading Geoff Emerick's book on recording the Beatles (as chief engineer), and it really reinforces for me the Beatles as the ulimate role models for living the creative life.

"Here Comes the Sun", "Help" and "Elinor Rigby"

But they have done so many great songs that it is hard to grasp that it is possible.
