What happens if comic book movies are no longer in vogue??? What if three or four bomb in a row??? What if they wind up with a Daredevil/Elektra type situation on their hands???

Wouldn't that just be a cryin' shame?

Interesting too that the byproduct of all this extreme, mega-budget whoring out of Spidey, Thor, et al, is that the comic industry is still considered "in trouble." Nobody actually subscribes to or reads comic books anymore.

Yup. But what makes money are the licensing rights to mainstream pop culture characters that everybody knows. That's what DC lives on.

Which is why Marvel made a huge mistake selling to Disney. They could have kept control of everything and just licensed their property (which is what they have been doing for years).

Comicbooks, have more or less, simply become advertisement for Intellectual Property.
