Walker Percy remains my favorite author, but I've never understood all the adoration for THE MOVIEGOER. In literary style, it may be his most elegant effort, but the narrative is perhaps too subdued.

If I had to choose, I'd probably pick LANCELOT as my favorite. LOST IN THE COSMOS is also excellent.

I'll have to look into Walker Percy's stuff I can't say I'm familiar with any of his stuff.

But as to the final question. All too often I have movie quotes on call. Hilarious or insightful, I have them ready to use all the time. Majority of the time it's me and my friends quoting Adam Sandler or Jim Carrey classics. I've been hassled for random movie/music references on occasion.

I had a girlfriend that thought I was extremely insightful and intellectual, but once she found out I was just quoting movies I lost some points hehe.
