Jeez, I was pretty much over the whole John Hughes passing thing and then I read all of these interviews.

I suspect (and hope) that history is going to be extremely kind to this man. After reviewing the lion's share of his works recently, these films not only hold up but, in some ways, are better than I remember.

Here was a guy who worked primarily from the midwest (not L.A.), wrote great stories with vibrant characters, and was able to function within as well as outside of the Hollywood system.

I think we all would be well served to emulate an artist such as John Hughes.
