This is kinda reminding me of a book I never finished, the Cryptonomicon, which also had Alan Turing as a character and focused on his work intercut with a story set in 1999 that shows how that early work led to the modern internet and so on. It's really really dense, but one thing I liked about it was that it would explain what they were doing, it reminded me of another book called Little Brother, and that kind of element "this is what we're doing," I would love to have that in a movie about these first computers, explain why they work the way they do in a way that makes a layperson feel like they really can understand it... let the audience feel like THEY could use ENIAC when it's over. Sort of like how The Martian makes you think "oh, I know how to survive on Mars now." Of course, i have no idea how to write that, but that's what I'd like to see.
