Hm. Looks a bit underwhelming, to be honest. Actually I was looking forward to groundbreaking visuals. Turns out Gollum looked just as real as the creatures in this pic.

And that was about 10 years ago (!).

This looks amazing!

While I've never been a huge Cameron fanatic like some, I've always appreciated the risks he took and his EXTREME approach to filmmaking. In many ways, he's re-written the rules and doesn't get nearly enough credit for it.

This looks VERY consistent with the rest of his oeuvre and already seems no less groundbreaking than usual.

Count me in.

If all we have to go on is the special effects, then color me unimpressed. Then again, it's merely a teaser trailer; I'm optimistic that somewhere in all that endless blue, Cameron managed to get a great story out of his $200 million.

Huge James Cameron fan. Can't wait to see it.

Can we lose the J.J-Abrams-violin-music-swell at the end of EVERY trailer and act break that hits the audience over the head with "you should be feeling suspense, now."

Looks a little closer to the ultimate goal of fully realized CGI, but not quite there yet. Better than LOTR and King Kong, but not by much. And I don't know if I can care about the characters -- even if this is Dances With Wolves in space -- if the humanity doesn't shine through the animation. Also, the protagonist reminds of the faun in Pan's Labyrinth -- which isn't the best thing for the lead. There's still a slight "creepy" factor here with the CGI. Let's hope the story compensates for it.

This movie looks AWESOME!!

"Star Wars: Episodes I and VI" with accents akin to "Aliens" and "Pan's Labryinth." I think James Cameron has a MAJOR hit on his hands. 200 million?! If they advertise this right they should recoup that and then some. I mean come-on, isn't it about time a new scf-fi in the vein of "Star Wars" came out? A thought a movie of this magnintude would have come out a LONG TIME ago, but surprisingly it hasn't. Hopefully m'man Cameron can capatalize on that.

I saw the IMAX preview. Amazing footage. Lots of action. Feels like ALIENS meets JURASSIC PARK in 3D. The 3D is stunning. Very immersive.

The online trailer does this film no justice.

Quick observation: the design of the alien world is heavily influenced by Cameron's love of deep-sea diving. Bright, colorful, bioluminescent.
