Yes, a great scene from a great film. The monologue in the scene is wonderful by itself but takes on additional weight when seen in context of the whole movie. You then realize that when Galvin describes losing faith in the law and institutions etc., using the terms "we" and "our" to connote the general public, he is actually talking about himself - his feeling of being lost, his crisis of faith, his feeling of victimization and "death" inside. Very powerful. It doesn't hurt to have an actor with the depth of Paul Newman either!
