Scene 10! INT. DARK CAVE A CAULDRON in the middle, embers glowing underneath. TWO WITCHES, blazing torches in hand, circle around the cave. Enters another WITCH, in her hand a small smoldering tube, just a wisp of smoke curling up. WITCH #1 Er... Watcha doin'? WITCH #2 Looking for the paper, we are. Witch One's eyes grow wide, she hides her hand behind the back. WITCH #1 Paper? What paper? WITCH #3 Hecate left us a note, a recipe. We thought we had it memorized, but we didn't. Now we can't find it. WITCH #1 Er... Maybe Graymalking has done away with it. Bad cat. WITCH #2 No, he's gone to the witche's familiar's convention in Salem, he did. WITCH #1 In Salem? WITCH #2 Yes, in Cornwall. Godforsaken place, it is. WITCH #1 Ah, in Cornwall. Still, it's a long way away. WITCH #2 He borrowed me broom, he did. WITCH #3 You two stop talking and get looking. WITCH #1 Chill out. It's no big deal, surely. WITCH #3 Chill...? What's wrong with you? It IS a big deal, and don't call me Shirley. WITCH #2 Aha! WITCH #3 You found it? WITCH #2 No, but I found a bag of Hemlock root, I did, among these... weeds. Now I don't have to risk me ankles for while. WITCH #1 Good for you, Number Two. WITCH #3 Aha! I found it. She retrieves a scrap of paper from beneath a stuffed Bat. WITCH #1 Oh, girl, what a relief. She brings her hand from behind her back. WITCH #1 (cont'd) So, what's this important paper about? WITCH #2 Read it, Number Three. WITCH #3 Ah, here it is: Add all malted grains to water and mix to temperature around one-fifty Fahrenheit, then rest the mash for-- WITCH #1 You mean, it's a beer recipe? She brings the tube to her lips and we can now recognize it as a joint. She takes a long drag. WITCH #1 Weed and beer. Life's good.

Feedback 6 Roy Good scene and quite unexpected. Thems some cool witches I must say. Nit-picking, besides the obvious typo ("witche's"), I didn't get the comment from Witch #2 comment about her ankles and Hemlock root. Also, the witches are named One, Two and Three. I get that. This means that you could have described the women as witches based on their personal appearance and simply called them One or Number One. But that's just me. Nice scene.

Thanks, Ricardo. I had used the witches in another scene, so I probably didn't take enough care with them this time. It's in day 15 and if you check it, it explains the ankles and Hemlock root.

SCENE 10 INT. APARTMENT - BATHROOM - DAY A YOUNG MAN is hunched over the SINK. He stares at the MIRROR, which is outlined with PICTURES of him and a rowdy looking group of DUDES. Nearly all the pictures are set in bars or clubs. MAN: How the hell am I going to do this? (A beat.) Alright, first things first. He searches around the bathroom, hunting for something. He locks in on his DESIGNER HAIR GEL, sprays, and contorts his hair into a fashion-forward pompadour. MAN: Now I’m ready. He pulls a note from his pocket and deadpans to the mirror. MAN (reading the note): Steve, these five years have been remarkable. People said we and the guys had a bromance. When they said that at first I resented it. A lot. Now I know it’s true. We had something special. But I need a more mature roommate. I’m too old for hours of binging Netflix. I’m thirty-one now and I need someone to push me into adulthood. I have no clue how to be an adult except that I know that it’s going to be hard. Like putting Ikea furniture together hard. I wish you the best, Steve. I’m moving out. We hear the faint sound of KEYS and a DOOR OPENING. STEVE (O.S): Hey, you home? I got some frozen pizza for dinner! MAN: Steve, I'm moving on from frozen pizza. And we need to talk.
