I'm waiting for Hollywood to pull a Slumdog and snap up the rights to film a movie about Snakes and Ladders... set in India!

Crikey ... but there are toy movies that tank, aren't they?

Hmmm ... I must confess, though, that a film version of Thundercats would be interesting ...

If the story is good enough I'll be happy. But there seems to be a lack of thought and a critical eye put into the stories. Nostalgia is great, but hype seems to be what gets the seats filled.

I was discussing a horrible adaptation with my friend the other day, it was for "Street Fighter: Legend of Chun Li". I also pulled up an old post from earlier this year on GITS on the writer.
Colossus Writer Give Video Games a Chance
The street fighter movie adaptation was so poorly executed I had to recommend it to friends just to see how pathetic of a train wreck it was. This was from the guy who penned the new "He-Man Masters of the Universe" movie.

I'm overly critical of these new adaptation movies, but also at the same time i'm 'inspired to aspire' to become a writer of great adaptations. For games, cartoons and other nostalgic pastimes I've enjoyed.

Funny, it used to be the other way around... a cool action/sci-fi film would spawn toys. Now, toys spawn films.

The world of 2009, as brought to you by Rod Serling.
