Scene 02 INT. PRISON CELL - DAY Lying on their bunks, two inmates around 20, WIZARD and SHORTY, whisper. SHORTY Take it easy, man. I say you're jumping the gun. WIZARD Hey, I got a beef with that scrapa. SHORTY I know, I know... WIZARD So, I ain't gonna let him get the drop on me. I'm gonna hit him first. I'm gonna slice him good. SHORTY You gotta think about consequences. You're gonna bring a heat wave down on all of us. Wizard half-rises on one elbow, scowls. WIZARD Hey, you can hold your mud, can't you? Huh? Can't you? SHORTY 'course I can, and I will. But I ain't the only one in it. Who got you the piece? Wizard lies back, a crease still lingers on his brow. WIZARD Payaso. He's my homeboy, he'll hold. SHORTY You're so sure about him? He can be just setting you up. WIZARD Huh? What are you talking about? SHORTY He may snitch on you. WIZARD Snitch? Not Payaso, no. SHORTY Oh, yeah? You better be one hundred percent sure. If not... Wizard crosses his arms, fingers entwined behind his neck. Remains silent. A smile flickers on Shorty's lips.

Scene 2 (this isn´t really slang. sorry) Int. Hotel Hallway -day A man and a woman wait for the elevator. Both look up at the signal. Silence. Woman: “Ah, these awkward moments when there is so much to say -it just kinda clogs you up, right?” Man: “I´ve got nothing to say to you.” Woman:” I think you do.” Man:”I have no idea how you got that impression.” Woman: “Maybe it´s because you swore by your mothers grave?” Man:”My mother is alive and kicking. There is no grave to swear by.” Woman: “You lied about your mothers grave?! What kind of a person are you?” Man: “I lie when I´m drunk and trying to impress somebody. It´s what most people do.” Woman: “I didn´t lie. I get real honest when I´m drunk.” Man: “You could be lying about that right now.“ Woman: “Why would I?” Man: “Now you´re sober.” Woman: “When did this turn into a discussion about me? YOU are the one who promised to tell me.” The elevator arrives. He goes in. she follows. Doors close. Man: “Tell you what?” Woman: “You swore! On your mothers grave, you would tell me if you had ever- “ Man: “What?!” Woman: “Ever gotten married before.” Man: “That was this big promise?? As a matter of fact, I have been married before. And when I last checked, I wasn´t divorced or anything.” Woman(totally looses it): “You lying son of a bitch! Motherfucking asshole. Go fuck that alive and kicking mother of yours and tell her to go to hell for the kind of son she raised. Such a motherfucking liar!” Man: “What the fuck?” (defending himself from her blows and kicks) Woman: “And when she dies from having been fucked by her son-of-a-bitching son, you can actually stay true when you swear by her grave!” Man: “Wait a second- wait, will ya? Wait! (he grabs her wrists) Why did you say: before?” Woman: “I said plenty before!” Man: “You said: have I ever gotten married BEFORE.” Woman: “Because we got fucking married last night.” Man: “We –what!?” Woman: “This is Vegas, alright? We got married and then consummated the marriage. It was (starts to sob) really romantic. You swore you loved me. I didn´t believe it one second, so you insisted on giving me proof.” She shows a wedding band on her finger (it is monstrous and tacky). He looks at his hand: similarly monstrous wedding ring here. He touches his shoulderblade: ouch Woman: “That´s the tat.” Man(Grows pale): “what does it say??” Woman: “My name. In a big flowery heart.” Man: “Oh my god!” Woman: “I got your´s. “ she pulls down her blouse to reveal a big Tatoo with “Paul” written inside. Elevator stops at a floor and several businessmen pile in. They know Paul. Businessmen: “Hi Paul! Where´d you end up last night? Who´s your friend?” Man: “Hi Boss. This is-“ (he doesn´t remember the name) Woman: “Cindy” Man: “My lovely wife:”

Feedback 2 Hey Roy, this is nice. You effectively used the slang as a way to enlarge their characters. I wonder if there could be more opportunities for Shorty to push for his agenda? Not to say that it would work, just curious what could happen? These are two characters I would want to read more about.

Used some nice slang in this scene. All felt natural. Kudos for using some slang I personally hadn't heard before (hold your mud). I wasn't able to get a clear read on the characters' background based on the slang and I'm left wondering about that smirk of Shorty's at the end! What's HE scheming? Nice work...

EARL: Jawns be talkin’ about that jawn like that, though. Jawns be sayin’ it’s dumb hard. Marko nods vigorously in agreement. MARKO: Shit is mad hard. I did that jawn last year. EARL: See, that’s why I’ma wait a year. Get me some time to get my weight up, know what I’m saying? MARKO: I respect that, bruh. TEDDY: YOLO, though. Ain’t no time like the present…’cause that shit is a gift. EARL: True. But I ain’t like you, Teddy. Earl steps to Teddy and points a playful finger. EARL: Aye, you ain’t tell us if you killed that jawn or if you got washed like a chump? MARKO: Yeah, that joint wash you or what, Teddy? Teddy lets a devious smile slip. TEDDY: I played y’all. Scene 3 INT. NAIL SALON – DAY Two 20-something college-age girls sitting next to each other having pedicures. Jordan: Oh. Lupe. I meant to tell you. I like your Ombre. I would never do it myself, but it looks good on you. Lupe: OMG, Jordan! Did you just shade me? You totally shaded me! Jordan: No… I like, totally meant it. It’s on point, really. You have the right skin tone for it. Not me. Lupe: Really? ‘Cause I was like, not sure, but, he was like, “Come on. Try something new.” So, I did it. Jordan: You must have a good hair dresser. I should get his number. Lupe: I can give it to you. So was it a hella good time? I had work. Jordan: So, like, you totally missed the beef. Lupe: Just tell me. Jordan: I mean, like, he showed up to the party already lit. Lupe: Who? Tait? Soooo not surprised by that. Jordan: I know, right? But then his ex, Alexis, was like, “Tait,Tait, you shouldn’t drive. Let me take you home.” I think he’s still got the feels for her, and he knew she’d be all over him since he got that DUI before, and she had to bail him out. Lupe: What about Melanie? Jordan: Tait's newest bae, never even showed up. Lupe: What's up with that? Jordan: IDK. Lupe:But, what about, like, Cory? Aren’t he and Alexis together? Jordan: He was so… like… acting like it was no big deal she was all over Tait. I think he’s so over Alexis now. So, Cory was just chill about it. Hung with Morgan. I mean, really. Morgan? Lupe: I know. She’s like, so hella basic. I’ve seen her at Starbucks. Jordan: Probably wearing Ugg boots. So anyway, Copper couldn’t, like, take it anymore. He had a few too many, and… Hey, did you even know that Morgan and Cooper have been sleeping together? Lupe: I did not know that. How could I not know that? Jordan: Really, Lupe. Get with it here. That’s when the fight broke out. I couldn’t even believe it. I was so outta there. Made it back to my apartment in time before the police arrived. Lupe: Sweet. I totally miss out on everything. Jordan: I know, right? You totally need to get Friday nights off.

FEEDBACK 4 Nice use -- and range -- of slang! Would be interested to see some conflict in the dialogue between the characters, in addition to the rehashing off events, just as an idea. Nice work!

Thanks, Kim. I just made them up on the fly, so I don't really know what they're up to.

Thanks, Vic. California prison gang slang, I'm not sure how up to date. I just read some slang and made a scene out of it.

ANDRE: Fitty a zip if you like. Fam special. Thirty half. PRESTON: Maybe just a... dime bag? That's a thing right? ANDRE: Ten bucks. Preston takes ten bucks out of his wallet and hands it over. Andre pulls a big ziploc bag of smaller baggies out of his sweatpants and pulls out a dime. Trades. TAMMY: You working? You know Rick’s the manager at the hardware store now if you need a job. He’d hire you in a heart beat. Discounts on everything in the store. PRESTON: Yeah maybe. TAMMY: Andre works there too. ANDRE: My ass is on the clock right now. Getting paid to get paid, know what I’m saying? PRESTON: That you’re making money while you make money? ANDRE: Xactly. Thas wassup. Thanks for the fam special. ANDRE: Oh for sure. You know where I’m at. Holla atcha boy when you tryna re-up. Tammy pulls him in for a hug. Crushes his head in her massive cleavage. Feedback 7 This felt very natural for me and the slang works great. I think the next step would be adding a little more subtext and giving us a better sense of what's going on here but overall great job!
