INT. KITCHEN – DAY
1950’s checkered Linoleum, vinyl metal framed chairs, a rounded icebox.
Twin teenage girls, Julia (16) and Sarah (16) sit at the table reading magazines, dressed in matching petal-pushers, blouses, and white tennis shoes. Molly (6) sits with them, playing with her baby doll.
Francine (26) rushes into the kitchen wearing high heels, skirt, and sweater hanging off her shoulders.
Francine: I really appreciate you two watching Molly until Grandma gets here.
Julia: We’re swell.
Sarah: What are older cousins for?
Francine: All right. Tell my mom, I mean Grandma, I’ll be back around 8.
Francine exits. The three girls sit quietly at the table. Molly places her baby doll right in front of her belly.
Molly: Where do babies come from?
Julia lowers her magazine. Thinks for a moment, then…
Julia: French Kissing
Sarah: What?
Sarah drops her magazine and stares at her sister.
Julia: That’s what Grandma told me. French kissing.
Sarah: Babies do not come from French kissing.
Julia: Yes, they do. When you put your tongue in his mouth…
Sarah: Stop!
Sarah covers Molly’s ears.
Molly: I want to hear, Aunt Sarah.
Molly pushes Sarah’s hands off her ears.
Molly (CONT.): Aunt Julia, what’s French kissing?
Sarah: She doesn’t need to know.
Julia: Well, Molly, a French kiss is when…
Sarah: Don’t tell her! She’s too little.
Julia: She has to learn sometime.
Sarah: She’s only six! What would Aunt Francine say?
Julia: You’re upset because Grandma told me about French kissing first, and not you.
Molly: Aunt Sarah, you don’t know about French kissing?
Julia: Yeah, Aunt Sarah? Haven’t you ever French kissed a boy?
Sarah: I…
Julia: What were you doing with Peter last night in his car? Hmmmm? On Lover’s Point? Did you French kiss?
Sarah: Oh, my God...
Grandma (60’s) appears in time to hear Molly joyfully announce…
Molly: Aunt Sarah is going to have a baby!
Grandma faints.
