I point this small error out because I sort of know the screenwriter, but also because writers are so often undercredited -- but the screenplay wasn't just written by the director, it was co-written by him and Aaron Covington. Anyway, thanks for the very cool blog!

HumanBreakfast, thanks for that. I was in a hurry when I posted this and was going off the Box Office Mojo page which only lists Coogler. Odd thing is I know Covington co-wrote the script, just spaced it out. Anyhow it's a pet peeve of mine, too, as I always try to get correct credits, especially with a writer-director involved. Corrected now and thanks again!

Yes, this movie!! I just saw a preview of it (it's released over here in a couple of days) and I was so impressed! I love the old-school feel of the movie in general - Coogler sure knows his job and he's, what? Hardly 30? A great feel for everything - characters, story, directing. Touching, well made and everything that I wasn't expecting. Looking very much forward to next week's discussion. I read this itw with Stallone a week ago or so. It's not only about CREED but it's still very interesting. http://deadline.com/2016/01/sylvester-stallone-creed-rocky-michael-b-jordan-ryan-coogler-1201675085/
