I like all the tips, but am particularly interested in the more obscure.

I dropped a one line joke in a thriller-- "someplace nice, like the Olive Garden". Never in a million years would have realized that a reader has seen that so much he's going to groan.

And I almost did the "blue tooth" thing, the word is too new and the spellchecker tries to fix it. I got it, but I'm surprised that it comes up a lot.
