I try to do it bit by bit, reducing my goals so I can have many "small" goals instead of a gigantic one. I try to think that I'm about to type 10 pages, and take that as a goal. For my mind, it's easier to process 10 pages rather than 30.

I love to say yes to too many things. I've been getting better at saying no and figuring out what's important... I just finished reading the book "Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less" ( http://amzn.to/1Mk5oT3 ) and it talks a lot about saying no. Getting rid of the things that aren't essential or a priority, and how to avoid the overwhelm and the desire to do everything. I highly recommend it. I've been working on getting comfortable with setting lower expectations on a daily basis, and instead relying on compounded effects of my actions. Instead of trying to do everything.... I just do *1* thing per day that moves me forward. EVERY. DAY.

I say yes to too many things as well. It ends up disappointing people either way, so I'm also trying to budget tasks better. Scott, if you write a book this summer, count me in advance as a reader. I'll buy it hot off the presses.

YES! That is a definite goal, being able to say NO and not feel guilty or bad in any way. Bottom line is I can't take on too much as I've tended to do in the past, so my goal for 2016 as a writer is to be unafraid of saying no when needed and get what's important to me written and out there. It sounds simple enough, but life has a way of complicating things - guaranteed!
