Scott, I have to thank you once again from the bottom of my heart. I read your posts and somehow pushed them to the back of my mind, looking at facebook distractions and the laundry instead. But little by little these very interesting questions dug through all the layers of rubbish in my consciousnes. They are just such irritating, actually meaningfull questions!

so here are my answers (unedited and I hope not too embarrassing): -yes -yes -crazy alive art -father-child love story -yes -yes: I really love this job -I am - Oh tons! Better grammar, better research, thorough education in all kinds of fields would be nice, research, research, take characters more seriously, grow up (? is that even a good one?), less internet distractions, watch more movies, read more scripts, practise constructive, validating feedback at all times, find better names for characters, work on loglines, polish, polish, stay in one genre -and don´t let the food burn while at the computer again! I´m only posting this because you promised juju to flow. I think I´m addicted to that stuff by now...

Scott, My writing group just touched upon this subject. I know I didn't hit all of my goals in 2015. I know I have a lot of work to do in 2016 to be where I want to be as a writer. The difference between this moment and the same time last year is my confidence in my ability to produce material. I spent a large part of last year stimied by one project and failing to finish another. The second half I turned things up. I finished the nagging script, my ZD30 script and a rewrite on the former. I already have a game plan for the first few months of 2016. I also have a better understanding of how to manage my time between work, family and writing. My writing is huge to me, but if I wasn't able to do it without having quality time with my family, it wouldn't be a something worth persuing. I know I can do it all, now. I also (now) know that I can produce material in finite amounts of time. It's all about priorities and structure. So far as me as a writer? I'm still working on that. I grew up watching Monty Python and The Twilight Zone, so both influence my writing. We'll see which wins out.

This series is so helpful! I'm finding that it is encouraging to give myself credit for small victories. I'm a new writer, but this year was huge for me. I produced shorts that I wrote, I took my goals seriously, and I drafted my first feature in Zero Draft Thirty. Thank you for helping me get in the head space to keep the momentum going (and often times, to figure out the way forward!).

This year I went from the notion that I had good story ideas, to the notion that I can turn those good ideas into something tangible (and then did it!) And that's pretty cool.

Where am I at now... I've learned a lot from making my own short, much more than I thought I could and that's had a huge impact on my writing. I've worked out what I can and can't do and am now more focussed on what I can do realistically. As a writer I'm more grounded I think.
