Hi, I would like to have a go at doing scene by scene breakdown for Mud. I've read an example, is there anything else I need to know to get started? Cheers, Kevin
KirstyBooks at 2015-12-08 19:39:08:
Hi Scott, I'd love to volunteer do a scene-breakdown of Trainwreck, Man Up and Enough Said. How do we apply? Thanks, Kirsty
Scott at 2015-12-08 20:03:37:
Mud would be great. Thanks! Re doing the actual breakdown: Use some of the existing ones from the archives as your guide. Please do it as a Word doc. Email to me when done: GITSblog at gmail dot com. Again thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-08 20:05:59:
Kirsty, we've already got Enough Said, but Trainwreck and/or Man Up would be great. In fact, I definitely want to focus on Man Up as it's such a well-crafted script with lots of elements we can learn from. So if you were to choose one, I'd love to see you do Man Up. And if you'd like to to do two, Trainwreck would be great, too. THANKS!
KirstyBooks at 2015-12-08 20:14:01:
I agree re Man Up. Tess Morris is fantastic. I'll get on it and email over when done. Cheers, Kirsty
Timm Higgins at 2015-12-08 22:12:17:
I'll throw my hat in for Straight Out Of Compton
Scott Guinn at 2015-12-08 22:21:48:
I would like to do scene-by-scene of 'Bridge of Spies'.
Scott at 2015-12-08 23:54:55:
Kirsty, I've got you for Man Up. I'm especially proud of that script because I reached out to the producers to see the script made public. Thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-08 23:55:39:
Great, Timm. Excellent script and movie. Thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-08 23:56:24:
Excellent, Scott. Solid script worth analyzing.
Michael Waters at 2015-12-09 04:16:54:
I'll do Pawn Sacrifice, the Bobby Fischer biopic. I've read the script although the movie hasn't been released anywhere near me. Michael Waters (Four times Northern Ireland Chess Champion)

Hey Scott -- still need someone for TRAINWRECK? If so, would love to do it. Joni B.
LivSFB at 2015-12-09 07:37:11:
Hi Scott, Would love to volunteer. Not sure which one is left to do but would be happy to do a break down of any. Thanks, Olivia

I would like to help. How about "The Diary of a Teenage Girl?" Cynthia
Piotr Ryczko at 2015-12-09 09:06:03:
I am also willing to help. I could do Levathian. Please let me know if that's ok. Thanks! piotr
Katha at 2015-12-09 10:11:02:
I would love to do "Inside Out", if it's still free.
Jillienne Bee at 2015-12-09 10:23:50:
I'm throwing my hat in the ring for Ex Machina. Would also be interested in Steve Jobs, Carol, and Legend, but what's the turnaround time you would like for these? I would like to watch the films and then do the breakdowns.
Scott at 2015-12-09 10:40:04:
Great, Michael, thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-09 10:40:26:
Joni, Trainwreck is all yours. Thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-09 10:43:32:
The Keeping Room is an excellent script and a terrific movie (going wide on VOD starting in January) and I definitely want to promote that. I've also interviewed its screenwriter Julia Hart we have that as a resource as well. Another choice would be Room which looks like will get some Oscar noms including for Best Actress (Brie Larson). Let me know and thanks in advance!
Scott at 2015-12-09 10:44:10:
Great, Cynthia! Diary of a Teenage Girl is all yours and thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-09 10:45:15:
Excellent, Piotr. Want to promote this movie as it never really got the attention it deserved here in N. America. Thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-09 10:45:59:
Katha, wonderful! One of the best Pixar movies and possible Best Original Screenplay nominee. Thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-09 10:47:21:
Jillienne, Ex Machina is already taken, but Steve Jobs, Carol, and Legend are all still available. I'll bet Carol gets an Oscar nom for screenplay. How about that one?
Jillienne Bee at 2015-12-09 10:58:06:
Sure! Thank you! And if you don't get takers for the other two, I'll get them done too. Nothing like more motivation to stick to your 1, 2, 7, 14 game plan. :-)
Scott at 2015-12-09 11:06:11:
Steve Jobs and Monsters Universe are now taken.
The__Deuce at 2015-12-09 11:39:46:
I'd love to help! Are there any scripts left that are "priority" to you?
Steve F at 2015-12-09 11:41:26:
I'd be happy to do The End of the Tour.
LivSFB at 2015-12-09 12:14:14:
Happy to do both! When would you like this done by? Many Thanks, Olivia
Scott at 2015-12-09 12:29:37:
Room, The Spectacular Now, The Way Way Back, those are a few which would be great gets.
Scott at 2015-12-09 12:30:27:
Steve F, excellent! Love the movie and interviewed the screenwriter after reading the script some months ago. Definitely worth a script read and analysis. Thanks for doing that breakdown!
LivSFB at 2015-12-09 12:31:38:
Sorry just realised neither have come out in the UK yet.If I can't find either online would Legend be available?
Scott at 2015-12-09 12:34:19:
Legend would be great. You can download that script here. Hoping to get breakdowns in by December 31. Thanks!
LivSFB at 2015-12-09 12:35:01:
Brilliant! Thanks Scott!
Scott at 2015-12-09 12:36:52:
Thanks, Jillienne. Carol it is for you. Steve Jobs and Legend just got nabbed.
lesliejaywriter at 2015-12-09 13:04:45:
Hi Scott, I'd be happy to do Imitation Game or The Iron Lady - whichever is available. Or both.
Scott at 2015-12-09 13:27:07:
Leslie, we already did The Imitation Game last year, but The Iron Lady works. Thanks!
The__Deuce at 2015-12-09 14:54:06:
Cool. Put me down for The Way Way Back for now.
Scott at 2015-12-09 15:55:23:
Great. Wonderful little movie!
Jacob Holmes-Brown at 2015-12-09 16:37:01:
Hey Scott, I'd like to tackle one of Beasts of No Nation, A Most Violent Year, Carol or Macbeth. Whichever is most of a priority for you is cool.
Scott at 2015-12-09 17:51:55:
Jacob, Beasts of No Nation is one helluva powerful movie. If you're up to do a breakdown on that script, that would be great. Thanks!
Ryan Canty at 2015-12-09 18:02:00:
Scott: I can do any of the comedy/dramas on the list. Has anyone done Celeste and Jesse Forever? Dear White People?!
Susan W. at 2015-12-10 22:59:58:
Scott -- I want to do one too! I would love to do Spotlight, but it does not look like it is on your list of available screenplays. I would also like to do Trumbo or Truth, or Enough Said. Let me know! Thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-11 01:29:29:
Ryan, I thought I responded yesterday, but evidently didn't. Yes, by all means, take Celeste and Jesse Forever. Thanks!
Scott at 2015-12-11 01:31:10:
Susan, I suspect Spotlight's script will be made available, especially since it got nominated for a Golden Globe, so if you want to wait to see if/when that happens, I can slot you in for it in advance. Just saw the movie tonight. Excellent! A really strong script.
Ryan Canty at 2015-12-11 03:47:33:
It's totally fine. I see this now and Celeste and Jesse Forever it is!!! Thanks!!!
Susan W. at 2015-12-11 08:49:49:
Yes, please slot me in for Spotlight! I loved the film and would welcome an opportunity to see how it ticks on paper! Thanks!
