I posit the theory that storytelling is what makes us human and sets us apart from other animals. It is how we communicate abstractions to each other. It is how we collect history and share it with each other. It is how we designate what is important to us and collectively shape the world we live in. Even our dreaming is story-related. It's not that we love stories; it's that we must have stories to make sense of our experiences.

Concur, PJ. We can go even further to say stories are our way of making sense of reality. Dreams echo this as there is some part of subconsciousness which attempts to pull together disparate images into some sort of sense. BTW Carl Jung believed that dreams had a narrative structure!

And, then, of course, there's the indisputable power of music when it comes to visual storytelling ... what's great about it's use in this ad is the lyric doubling as a storytelling device! Watch how perfectly the editing works with the musical crescendo as the horse takes the leap. To me, without the song, it's not nearly as powerful. Watch it without sound and you can really feel it. ;-) Great share, Scott.
