I am up to page 75. Feeling a bit discouraged as not sure if what I have planned for my third act is the way to go. Also think I need to figure out my character motivations more. I guess if screenwriting was easy everybody would be doing it!!!

Solid Sunday for me in terms of output, wrote 6 pages. What's interesting is how now that I'm nearing the end I'm figuring out more I should or shouldn't have done at the beginning and ways my story could be more coherent. But hey, that's why it's a draft.

Another 4 for 88. Nearing the 90 page mark, I'm finding that I barely have time to include all the stuff I'd like to include before the 120 pages end. I'm not always adhering to the outline, and finding that I'm introducing new threads and scene ideas as they come. Not feeling too bad about it either. Let's see where this leads.

Today's motivational video actually demotivated me. Watching it just reminded me of the few years I played little league and literally never got a hit. The only time I ended up on base was when the pitcher accidentally beamed me with the ball. But I do appreciate the Never give up sentiment. Anyways I wrote three scenes today. Only a couple more to go.

Oh my goodness... Thank you so much for the Trumbo Award. I had a speech all written out and everything but I left the napkin on the table and now I'm on the podium in front of everyone I don't know what to say except thank you so much for this great honour! Does anyone have a hanky? :-) Seriously though, cheers Scott, I do feel privelaged :-)

Porkchop, absolutely right. It only FEELS like everyone wants to become a screenwriter! Re Act III: Feel your way through it. See what emerges. What works, great. What doesn't, fix it in rewrites. Trust the process!

Steve, this is precisely the point I've made again and again: It's critical to get to FADE OUT because you will understand SO MUCH MORE about your story when you reach the end than if you stop midway or wherever and rewrite. Make notes about what you will do in rewrite, then keep pushing forward!

thedchen, stories are ORGANIC. The fact your story is evolving and shifting under your feet, while scary, is GREAT! That means it and its characters are 'speaking' to you. Follow their lead and see where they take you!

When in doubt, simply say, "Thanks," and walk off stage. I guarantee that will be THE most discussed acceptance speech of the evening. Congrats!
