Hear, Hear! also... Here, Here! Heart and Head Needle and Thread Hungry and Fed I shall Write Until I am Dead

It's a good feeling knowing we've made it halfway through the month. I'm happy to have written at least 4 pages each day. There is still a challenge of another 15 days ahead, but I am less daunted with each day that goes by and the sense of cumulative progress. Going to do my best to keep it up.

Way to go Emily Roth. Checking in at page 61. Very grateful to ZDT for starting us all on this writing binge. I'm learning a lot about the craft, and a lot about myself.

I know we're right at the midway point but today as I was writing I came up with an even BETTER idea for a screenplay! Way better than the story that I'm struggling with right now. And this new idea is going to be so much easier! I can see the whole thing in my head! So I'm going to ditch my current story for this new one. JUST KIDDING! Wrote two scenes today.

"The best thing we can do for our kids is pursue our dreams." I have been told this several times as well by friends, every time I wanted to give up. I thought they were wrong and that I was setting a bad example. Not so long ago, I asked my daughter about this and she said, "I know how difficult it's been lately what with lack of work and money, but you never run out of ideas and you stand by your passion. I admire you for that." Tears ahoy, right? :) I didn't know that. I thought she resented me a little. Not once, though, and that is worth every hard moment...

Is that original, Karl? Nice!

Excellent progress report, Steve. And now you're on the downside part of the hill, especially as you move toward and into Act III. Go, go, go!

61 is terrific, thedchen, you're ahead of me! So not only progress in page count, also learning about yourself as a writer. All that for FREE! Quite a bargain!

David, I have LITERALLY known people who have done precisely that. Got about halfway through a script and ditched it for a 'better, easier' idea. That is the essence of Shiny Object Syndrome, the enemy of productivity. Avoid like the plague! Two more scenes for you. Great. How about 3 scenes today?
Scott at 2015-11-16 15:58:56:
Marija, that's awesome! And tears ahoy, indeed!

And here is today's batch of creative juju!

Another weekend of review, as well as putting prose on the page. I find the "stop and stand back" approach is really working for me. I've approaching the end of Act2 and have decided to tackle numerous sections that I glossed over in my mad dash to write or simply didn't realise I needed. Then, when my plot-lines and characters are assembled (whether in the right order or not) I will start my Act 3. (Just in case I've forgotten something!) Two weeks in, a hundred pages of writing.... I'm feeling good about getting to the finish line. But one thing this has taught me, is to have a good idea of where I'm going and the goals of my primary characters is essential. But what I really find exhilarating is to let my characters "be themselves". They've taken me on a remarkable journey and it's not over yet.
