Day/Night 11 was a crappy day, 4 pages done, bringing me to p92... Onward regardless :-)

Daily v. report no.11 - Thinking a lot, writing zip, uberbusy day, preparing for a huge writing weekend.

I had the day off for Veteran's Day and there's a good chance I will get roped into working late tomorrow, so I took advantage of the extra time and wrote 8 pages. Also, tonight I went to see Room, which I thought was quite good. It's nothing like my script, but I can't help feeling inspired by a quality film. Anyone seen anything lately that they recommend?

Andy, 4 pages per day = 120 which is a draft. You're on target to finish the draft, then use the rest of November to revise and edit. Side benefit of banking some big daily totals: You can 'slouch' in with 4 pages! In any event, you moved the ball toward the goal line!

lallo, could you add a 30 minute writing session each day? Even if you only contribute 1 page, that's still ONE PAGE further than you were. If not, no worries. Just make sure you sequester yourself this weekend. No distractions. I've gone away for 48 weekend writing sessions where I've written 60 pages. That's with the story outlined in detail, but still you can be incredibly productive that way.

Steve, nice: 8 pages. Re Room: I've heard Brie Larson and the boy are incredible, and the first half of the movie is great, second half has some issues. I'm a huge Brie Larson fan (have you seen Short Term 12), so very much looking forward to seeing Room when it FINALLY reaches Chapel Hill. She is getting buzz for an Oscar nomination. Re recent movies: The Martian, Bridge of Spies, Steve Jobs, all stellar. Jobs is the best of the bunch IMHO. Sad to see it not connect with an audience, although I suspect many Apple fans didn't want to see the 'dark' side of their high tech guru. VOD: The End of the Tour, I Smile Back. Recommend both. Small indie dramas. My favorite sub-genre! Got my tickets to see SW: The Force Awakens on Friday, Dec. 18. My wife and me. My sons will be in Boston together to see it at the same time. Tried to watch the motivational video but my computer kept getting stuck in the middle and buffering. So all day I had this weird feeling I was only half as motivated as I should be. But I did end up writing 5 scenes. So that's good.

3.5 pages, got to a natural stopping point. 44.5 total. Though on top of that, I also wrote a commissioned 2 page short today. Breaking and concluding a mini story was satisfying, I have a newfound proficiency and faith in my writing process since starting ZD30. And still a long way to go.

Yesterday I doubled my total from 14 to 28. Today I am reaching for 40 pages.

Yes, Brie Larson and the boy are really great. I didn't find the second half that problematic, but I was pretty swept up in the story and characters. Definitely worth seeing. I have seen Short Term 12, a great film. Thanks for the recommendations. I've seen Steve Jobs and the End of the Tour, liked both a lot. The latter has inspired me to read lots of David Foster Wallace. He's amazing. Those other films are on my list. Good reminder to order Star Wars tickets! And I've enjoyed the interviews you did for Short Term 12, End of the Tour, and I Smile Back.

Half motivation is better than no motivation. But to balance things out, Davd, tomorrow you need to be at 150% motivation!
