Was currious what the pro's had to say about "Terminator: Salvation" so I read all 3 reviews...

* SPOILERS BELOW *

Personally I thought Terminator 4 was so-so. It starts off great, but then suffers from the lack of a three dimensional antagonist.

The way I see it, T4 does this well:

1) EXCELLENT re-invisioning of the Terminator world and franchise through the eyes of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington). His character is the suprise hit of the show. This could have been distaster, but a solid script and some fine acting pull it off BRILLANTLY.

2) One of the best sci-fi action set-pieces I've ever seen: the 7-11 scene and corresponding chase. Simply AWESOME worth the price of admision just to see that.

The way I see it, T4 is lacks the following:

1) Poor antantonist. From reading the IMBD synopsis of this movie I was HOPING to find out more about Skynet's plans. That tease is NEVER explored, and the robots are just monsters blindly following orders.
This weakness COULD be because Warner Brothers is planning to delve into the mystery of Skynet in later movies. If they do I came up with some killer ideas as to what COULD be lurking behind Skynet...

2) Unbelievable: resistance conquers Skynet end fight scene. It's like they just arrive and take over. VERY BAD, it's like Warner Brothers ran out of money and cheated us out of what could have been a classic, Star Warsesque ACT III battle.

3) Major brain disconnect needed: state of San Fransico after a nuclear exchage, how the resistance has all these jet fighters...
