If I walk out of the theater feeling like I really need to see a movie again, I'll usually buy it, but there's no point to buying a movie that sucks.

Wait, the studios are surprised and disappointed that CRYSTAL SKULL and HANCOCK didn't sell a bajillion DVDs?

Well then, maybe they should have worked harder to make sure those movies didn't suck out loud.

This sense of stupid-rubes-will-buy-our-shit-movies entitlement has got to go if Hollywood hopes to staunch the bleeding. As Emily points out, why buy a DVD of the movie you realized in the theater isn't worth your money?

I buy just about every kid DVD that comes out. # 1) it eases the middle class working parent guilt, #2) Pixar make the greatest babysitters, #3) I'm hoping that one day one of my kids will say, hey, Mum, I've got an idea for a movie...

I don't burn. I even buy my music legally from iTunes. Most my friends under 25 think I'm crazy. Are they right?

Kiwichick, re your fantasy that your kid may turn you onto a great movie idea, that's exactly how Jim Hart got the idea for the movie Hooked. Sitting at the dinner table with his family, one of his kids said, "What if Peter Pan grew up?"
