Good lord, that trailer alone was like a mini-movie unto itself.

You know that feeling you get when you see something and you think, "Holy shit, I wish I had written that, now I hate everything and anything associated with this project because I'm, at my core, a bitter bastard who despises brilliance in others"?

I'm having a little of those feelings now. Jesus, that film looks utterly phenominal...

"As Good as it Gets" comes to mind. Wow.

The first script I wrote was called Stand Up. Premise: Young comic goes on the road with crazed older comic. If I'd (A) added the dying element and (B) been as creative a talent as Judd Apatow...

Fascinating! I wrote a script around 1993 about an edgy comic who fakes his death, only to actually catch something terminal and nobody believes that he's actually dying. I think I called it "The Clown Who Cried Wolf."

I was, of course, inspired by the exploits of Andy Kaufman (this was a few years before Man on the Moon) but... y'know... what can ya' do?
