This film is the definition of smooth. The chemistry between Cary Grant and Ingrid Bergman is this hypnotic mix of cool and amazing sensuality. The dialogue Christine lists as her favorite, even ends with a smooth retraction/apology by Devlin. Plot, characters, suspense, romance-- smooth.

Great film. Thanks for the posting. I'd like to also point out this moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=reWOxLvp5sA Such a brilliant shot. Starts off as a typical wide shot of the party, slowly closing in, seemingly on nothing. You're not sure what Hitchcock is getting at until the closeup lands on the pivotal element.

This is the type of movie which shows of Cary Grant at his best, the epitome of smooth.

Absolutely, N D. Someone tweeted that shot yesterday and I found the same YT clip you did. Hitchcock was such a visualist. Thanks!
