Yeah, I agree the female characters were underrepresented. Knowing Tomica played such an important role in E's legacy, and this film getting made, I kept waiting for her to show up in the film -- can't cover everything, I guess. It's hard for me to comment on character development since they're all real folks, but I can say I enjoyed their representation in the film. No one felt one dimensional, except, perhaps, Suge Knight. The interplay was great between everyone on screen, and I loved the snarky comments and jabs they tossed back at one another ... things real friends do on the fly ... not for a laugh, but just ... because. Well written and acted. I didn't know going in that Ice Cube's son was playing him ... no wonder he can nail that smile of his so well! Oh, and I found it fascinating the writers had Jerry repeat word for word that dialog about "covering himself" in the scene with E at the table ... at first I thought, there was something wrong with the "DVD" till I remembered I was in the theatre! It was an interesting moment. I also found the dialogue between Jerry and E at the pool to be particularly rich ... good lessons in there. I loved E's "Why do I have to be the better man?" (So much going on in those few words!)
