Thanks to your recent post about screenwriting podcasts, I discovered the Curious About Screenwriting Network podcast from ISA. The August 17, 2015 episode is an almost exact match to this post: MICRO-BUDGET SCREENWRITING WITH CONSULTANT PAUL PEDITTO The points offered by Mr. Peditto align very closely with what Mr. Phillips posted.

Scott, I found Ed Burns' book, "Independent Ed" to be a good primer on going small with film production. He also covers a lot of his mistakes along the way. Also, Scott Kirkpatrick's "Writing for the Green Light: How to Make Your Script the One Hollywood Notices" is fantastic if one has any desire to learn what buyers are looking for in regard to scripts. Both are books worth spending money on and going back to often!

Thanks, Will and Doc, for those references. Even getting out and producing a short film from an original script is a great way for a writer to develop a sense of the relationship between script to screen.
