Am I the only one who thinks this sounds absolutely, positively, unquestionably awesome? Gnarly ass vampires chompin' necks and stompin' butts. Slice it any way you like but Del toro is effin' cool.

For my money, I prefer his THE DEVILS BACKBONE... Solid atmospheric horror, with great acting and writing.

These vamps sound like Del Toro's version of 30 DAYS OF NIGHT meets those from his BLADE II.

About time we get back to vampires as monstrous and hell bound borderline demonic creatures rather than stylized gothic romance characters.

Also, if anyone is a fan of Del Toro or if you simply love high-brow horror (yes, the genre can support such works. Exorcist, for example) You should absolutely check out a film Del Toro produced called THE ORPHANAGE. Along the lines of a THE SIXTH SENSE, the film possesses phenomenal writing, acting, cinematography and production design. Close to a 4 star film. Oh, yeah there's a catch... you have to read the subtitles. But I'm telling you the writing alone is worth it.

THE HOBBIT, starring Doug Jones [what an incredible face he has -- I love it already] as Bilbo Baggins.

AT THE MOUNTAINS OF MADDNESS, from a crazy story [they all are] of Howard Phillips Lovecraft. If the movie is a bit close to the original story, it will be an incredible thing I think.
