i love the commentary on groundhog day - streamlining the story :)

Not taking away anything from Danny Rubin, Harold Ramis had a lot to do with the eventual shape of the narrative in Groundhog Day. The movie is a master class in story structure where Phil literally goes through one stage of psychological adaptation to his condition after another.
