I agree with the "fantastic movie" sentiment. I was a teen at the time of Apollo 13 and watched the events in real time. When watching the film there's no mystery about "what will happen next?" or "will they get home safely?" Yet, every time I watch this film I'm on the edge of my seat, and this scene still brings tears. I think that's a testament to the brilliance of the writing, directing, acting and scoring.

Will, concur. Unique challenge for filmmakers adapting historical events. Knowing the ending, yet somehow evincing suspense, surprise, elation. Years ago, I worked with Michael Bostick, the exec at Imagine who brought the book to Ron Howard and Brian Grazer. He was an associate producer on Apollo 13 and has gone on to great success in the business.
