I heard that another company has jumped on the Easter movie bandwagon and greenlighted a sequel to Passion of the Christ!

It seems that savvy screenwriters should be trying to figure out what will be the next big holiday and pitch accordingly. St. Patrick's Day? Flag Day?

As for the two bunny flicks, neither one of them particulary grabs me. I Hop sounds like a complete ripoff of The Santa Clause and I am having a hard time picturing Hip Hop; are we just talking about an ordinary bunny or something Harvey-sized?

I agree with Alissa, I'm having a hard time imagining how they will portray a live-action bunny on screen. All CGI, I guess.
Hip Hop sounds a little less derivative, and seems to suggest a greater number of potentially funny scenes; but Cinco Paul is a good writer so I'm guessing he and his partner will make I Hop into something decent.

Hip Hop sounds like it might have the potential to be cute. The other one sounds like somebody plugged "Easter" into a lame holiday movie formula.

Alissa, you've got that right. Do you remember Leap Year, a pitch that sold back in October? It's a rom-com, so surely will come out around Valentine's Day.

A key value of these type of seasonal movies is, if they connect with an audience, they can become perennials, that is movies that play every year during the seasonal time frame.
