Heard on the bus tonight:

Girl: Is this the bus to Preston?

Driver: No. Stand L.

Girl: No need to say it like that.

Driver: Why?

Girl: I deserve some respect.

Driver: Anyone with an ounce of intelligence would have looked at the timetable.

Girl: Been to University have you?

Driver: Actually, yes.

Girl: Why you driving buses then?

Oh, and this one is also good. Seriously, you just can't write this stuff.

Woman (sarcastically): I'm sorry, I'm such a bitch.
Man: Hmm...
Woman: You think I'm a bitch, don't you?
Man: I didn't say that.
Woman: You didn't disagree with me.
Man: You know yourself better than I do.
Woman: I can't believe you called me a bitch.
Man: I didn't call you a bitch, you called yourself a bitch.
Woman: But you didn't tell me I'm not a bitch.
Man: Because you're acting like a bitch.
Woman: See? You think I'm a bitch!
Man: I said you were acting like a bitch.
Woman: Whats the difference?
Man: Dustin Hoffman acted like a retard, but it doesn't mean he is one.
Woman: I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but you're a dick for thinking I'm a bitch.
Man: Do you mean I'm acting like a dick or I am a dick?
Woman: Fuck you! (storms out)
Man: Too easy. Caramel Macchiato please!

Awesome website, Nicholas. Here's a blast from the past. On New Year's Eve, 1989, my wife and I were outside the Oakland Alameda Coliseum, heading in to spend the evening watching our friends the New Grass Revival open for Bonnie Raitt and The Grateful Dead. (We had backstage passes. It was fantastic!)

Anyhow there were obviously a zillion Dead Heads around. This one dude spotted another dude with a Katamandu T-shirt.

Dude 1: Dude, you were at the Katmandu concert.
Dude 2: Totally.
Dude 1: That concert rocked. I mean the space between the notes was awesome!

I thought was a completely random bit of spewage from a stoned rocker. Then years later, out comes this book: "The Space Between the Notes: Rock and the Counter-Culture". Which means that:

A. Dude 1 became the author of the book (way unlikely).

B. Dude was uttering a line he'd heard somewhere that was in the process of becoming common.

C. Dude created the phrase on that fateful night in the last hours of 1989.

BTW, at the concert at midnight, they wheeled out this hundreds feet high 'egg'. Then from the rafter came this guy dressed in a bird suit who 'sat' on the egg, and cracked it open, revealing some character named 1990. The guy in the bird suit? Bill Graham.

This is one of my all-time favorites that I sometimes find myself quoting after visiting the gym.

I used to work in a Montessori preschool and sometimes the young-uns would have accidents and need to change into their back-up clothes.

One day I overheard one of the 4-year-old girls telling a friend: "I came around the corner and all I saw was butt and vagina."

Thanks for all the other found dialogue contributions -- gave me a good laugh.
