While great advice, it's also maddening.
Once you're written a great script (hopefully more than one), winning Hollywood is still so subject to chance -- the chance that you can get someone to care about your idea enough to read the script, the chance a manager and agent will take on a promising new writer, the chance it has in a slow overcrowded market.
Of course, it's worth every bit of frustration to take yer chances. What else can you do when writing's what you do well? : )
