1. Anything Arnold Swartzenegger. Dude, just makes me laugh anytime that foreiner attempts what you know is going to be botched foray into the English language.

2. "Forest Gump"

3. Sandra Bullock in "While You Were Sleeping." Just about anything.

4. ANYTHING Meg Ryan.

5. Most all of Bill Paxon's lines in Aliens (1985)

6. Most punchline barbs from Rodney Dangerfield.

I just watched Hamlet 2, which is a fun, light-hearted movie. The writing scene is hysterical and hits pretty close to home. It includes the line, "Oh my God, writing is so hard." But this might make a better "On Writing" post as opposed to a "Daily Dialogue" post.

Here's a pretty great scene from MAGNOLIA. Subtext, character development, "off-the-nose" dialog, an arc within the scene, it's worth considering ... unless you've posted from that film previously.

One more, from the Charles Bronson film THE MECHANIC. You might not expect great dialog from such a movie, but the "reversal" in this scene is as effective as any produced by William Goldman or any of the other legendary reversal writers.

Thanks for the suggestions. For those movies I haven't already featured, I'll add to the list. So definitely something by Rodney Dangerfield, Sixteen Candles, Hiroshima Mon Amour, and so on. The Mechanic is interesting - I've never seen that. I'll have to check it out. Again thanks.
