Isn't the logline for "Within" the same as "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle"?

God, I hope not.

With all due respect to Scott, I don't think 'Fatal Attraction' or 'The Crush' belong on that list -- since (in the conservative tradition of thrillers) you can with good intentions have a renter or a husband or a nanny or a temp worker; there's no implied culpability in those relationships. But if you kiss your landlord's underage daughter, or have a weekend-long affair with a work associate, well... I think you're asking for it. You've invited some big cinematic punishment -- at least in the lizard-brain moral code of genre narrative.

I think both 'Fatal Attraction' and 'The Crush' (and also Clint Eastwood's 'Play Misty For Me') are a fundamentally different kind of film -- more of an 'In For a Penny, In For a Pound' type of cautionary tale. They're part of the sexual-morality subset of a narrative type that includes a huge number of stories about one seemingly-insignificant moral compromise leading to a snowballing series of disastrous consequences.
